New vs Old

The days of recession are here.Jobs are becoming annoyingly difficult to attain or hold on to.The necessity of accomplishing either one of the above has led to the mother of all inventions – the all new Men’s Underwear.Symbolic of the Buttocks Upliftment,it apparently gives an attractive shape and also holds it firmly in place.Fashion folks have gone on to label it as iconic, drawing analogies to the push up bra. This  invention, born in UK,seeks to extend the use of the phrase ‘bubble butt’ to the masculine community as well.Frankly,I never quite knew the signifance of what lies beneath when we were told to dress up smartly for an interview.Obese men and otherwise are ready to bid adieu to their sagging posteriors.Tight jeans, tight tees, tight vests, tights have all been pushed to the backseat by this rather weird, yet innovative thing;whose sales has outstripped that of even Victoria Secret’s lingerie.Surprisingly,it has leveraged the confidence levels of men and made them more dynamic in their professional and social lives.

However, all this only in the Western world. We Indians will always be unable to let go off the Nijjars, loosely translated as long checked boxers, proudly displayed by a good part of the population, notably a country actor by the name of Rajkiran. We consider mini skirts to be outrageous yet do not shirk at pulling up our dhotis close to our hip.The reason being we may not possess sagging posteriors,we are socially secure, blah blah.It is time to advocate to the West the use of the Nijjars, for it is believed that even brands like Jockey are hesitating to enter such a market fearing failure. The Indian Nijjar is an embodiment of our rustic culture, makes people feel at home.Plus it is an excellent fashion statement.Come 2020,We will walk out in Nijjars to every beach house party. We are told that international sporting organisations are seriously contemplating replacing trunks, shorty shorts with the more free, comfy Nijjar as it does not arrest any degree of freedom, enabling unparalleled motion. They also come in a variety of colours and designs, thus you could picturize anything on it from polka dots to a national flag.It is only sad that we are unable to grant such privileges to our female counterparts. The Nijjar is ours and only ours and so it shall be always.

X has been dormant for quite sometime, plausibly due to recurring blackouts.Hit by a mundane life,X is forever bored by anything and everything, barring a few obsessions namely the sport ‘Pool’,24,Maggi,Radio One 94.3 FM,Poker.Too lazy to even type out a few words, explaining the lack of blogposts over the last 2 months.Misses college,friends,hostel,Trichy..badly misses a ‘friend’.Has a lot to do,lots to study, lots to read, lots to learn, yet hates it all.Need a roadtrip.Btw,Varanam Aayiram rocks, simply studly.X is starting on a diet, lethargy has crept in,now weighs 75 kgs.Needs to go to atleast one quiz or any one lit event, the withdrawal is killing.Awed by Sehwag’s pummeling of England yesterday, yet to recover.Frequent outbursts leading to mental disintegration. And yeah,Varanam Aayiram rocks.X is now a Design Engineer in a company ranked 7th in the Fortune 500,something which no one could have ever predicted a few months ago.Yes,someday you could be at the wheel of one of X’s designs/creations.Shit happens.X is back on the cricket pitch, tournaments ahead.Feels so so good.X is another victim of Obamania, constantly blurting out ‘Yes We Can’ for all questions posed at the office.X needs a wave of change.X is me period

Equal Occurences

Of late,I have been highly contemplative, pondering over the ifs and buts of all occurences, leading to an eternal mental unrest.Agreed everything has a certain probability of occurence, which might vary depending upon other extraneous factors. However, our minds are never satisfied with these numbers especially when we don’t get we want, which happens around approximately 99 percent. How many times have we noticed the bus we badly want, shoot off in the opposite direction once in every 5 minutes?Considering a 2 lane road, the probability of a bus coming on either lane should be around 1/2.Yet it always happens that these numbers fail us.Also, there are several instances in life where even several more things have an equal probability of occurence;but then, how many of these things do really serve the purpose,we never know.A hardly stated, yet significantly true fact is that, probability is oblivious to all the evil aspects of an occurence. It is never influenced by all the goody goody characteristics and fails to create a bias towards the ‘right’ side.We all play Snakes and Ladders.Isnt it unfair that getting bitten by a snake and taking a ladder to victory on a particular roll of dice have the same probability?(on some occasions atleast)We are all noble souls, lol, but then numbers are fair, numbers are impartial etc.Numbers, not always, are right. When you supposedly live off your karma, how can you explain being subjected to an equal probability of toss of a coin, when a tail can make me happy (i.e Im a good Karma person)

All this is basically because I took up engineering when I had a gazillion other choices.Say,I could have even become a pizza delivery boy,a political party youth leader,a ghazal singer etc.But I didnt,I stuck to the conventions of my time and by God,it sucks.I could have gone on another path,as the rules of probability permitted me to.No,something did not let me,what could overpower the other probable choices, choices which were sanctioned by numbers, which people claim are omnipotent and omnipresent (The golden ratio is supposed to be all over nature).Maybe the human mind is the answer. The mind filters the equal choices picking the ‘right’ one.Assuming there exists only one ‘right’ choice, then the probability of the mind choosing a ‘wrong’ one is way higher, which is most unfair. Some math geek has to work out why numbers fail to see beyond the materialistic world. For all you know,it could get you a Fields Medal someday.Im bored now,I have nothing to do that interests me,Im pissed,I hate equal probability,I hate 1/2 or 2/4 or 3/6 and so on.And yeah, engineering SUCKS..
